The Cradle of Judaism
The Cradle of Judaism

A vibrant Jewish culture has existed across the Galilee for thousands of years, ever since biblical times. It emerged with the territories of the twelve tribes and the Kingdom of Israel.
Continued through the Hellenic and Roman periods and up to the Middle Ages and modern times. During the early centuries AD, several foundations of contemporary Judaism were laid, from the completion of the Mishna at Zippori to the completion of the Jerusalemite Talmud at Tiberias. The Sanhedrin – the high religious court – resided in the Galilee for many years, serving as the ultimate spiritual instance.
The culture of Jewish mysticism and Kabbalah that developed in Safed and its environs is a direct successor of that great tradition. Even today the Galilee attracts numerous Jewish spiritualists, mystics, and clerics, a phenomenon visible in many diverse locations.

Where Jesus Walked
Where Jesus Walked

The Galilee is a region where one can retrace the path of Jesus step by step. Here, in the vastness of the valleys and mountains, you will come to the places where He worked miracles. You can stand where He preached, and walk the roads that He and his disciples took, where believers flocked to his side. In later centuries churches and abbeys were built to commemorate these sites. The New Testament tells of many places that have since become renowned places of pilgrimage. In fact, at almost every corner of the Galilee you will see pilgrims from across the globe coming to visit the places where Jesus lived and walked. They pray in the churches, visit the abbeys, and meet with members of local Christian communities, who keep the fire of faith burning.

The Galilee has long been a haven for adventure recreation enthusiasts. The diverse geographical conditions allow visitors to engage in many varieties of this form of recreation. Rappelling and climbing can be enjoyed along the cliffs of the Western Galilee; the beaches and the Sea of Galilee are ideal for various challenging water sports; tubing can be enjoyed in the streams or in the Jordan River, while dryer activities, such as horse riding can be pursued on the hills and along narrow country roads. Many local companies rent every off-road vehicle imaginable, which you can drive to the region’s remotest corners. Year-round, the weather hardly ever frowns at adventure-seeking visitors. At winter time, the region offers ski at Mount Hermon and excursions to gushing streams; in the summer, springs walking and rafting are the major highlights. Anyone looking to boost a visit to the Galilee with some adventure will enjoy an endless range of possibilities.

The Path of Art
The Path of Art

A pastoral residential environment near the sea probably contributes creativity, at least that seems to be the case in Bustan HaGalil. Along the years, artists, members of the settlement, had created works of art as they were inspired by the landscape and the natural materials the area has to offer. As the agriculture started losing its appeal, the creativity increased and many artists opened their houses for the public.

From Coast to Coast
From Coast to Coast

The Western Galilee coastline is one of the most beautiful coasts in Israel. From soft, golden, sandy seashores it turns into a rocky cove which waves crash upon with might and splatter to each and every direction. In the early morning you can see fishermen with their rods and hooks in the water waiting for fish. As the sun settles high in the sky bathers arrive to sit under sunshades and let the warmth caress their body. Towards sunset, embraced couples stroll along the water line, until the final rays are swallowed by the waves.

A wintry night in the Golan

Deep winter puddles, fog is covering mountain tops, falling leaves are everywhere, black basalt rocks, winter that has come early and aroused hopes in the hearts of farmers and in ours and it’s cold in the Golan Heights in winter.
Because of that and only now, when nature is grey and beautiful, the air is clear and clean and rain washes the land  , the safe option is to climb into bed with a hot beverage and a warm blanket. But there is in fact another option:  to go out for an excursion in the car or on foot and watch the marvelous flowing of streams. Just don’t forget the thermos.
And this time we have a special offer for sleeping in tents. Yes, this isn’t a mistake the Golan is offering great camping sites in winter of all seasons with Indian Tipi tents, Mongolian Yurts, delightful huts etc. Every site has its exclusivity and special location and what is common to all is the heating.
